Three World Trade Center
Project Description
Southern Geotechnical Consultants, LLC (SGC) provided specialized weld inspections for support members for the new construction of the 80 story skyscraper as part of the rebuilding of the World Trade Center (175 Greenwich Street) across from the previous location of the Twin Towers that were destroyed during the September 11, 2001 attacks. SGC provided all weld testing for fabricated structural columns that were manufactured at King Steel in Lawrenceville, Georgia as a subcontractor for Owens Steel in Columbia, South Carolina. All testing adhered to specialized seismic codes and structural details for the unique application. All members were thoroughly inspected, qualified and stamped prior to shipment.
