Former Textile Manufacturing Facility

Southern Geotechnical Consultants, LLC (SGC) provided Environmental Assessment services in association with the purchase of a former yarn manufacturing facility in Gainesville, Georgia. As part of a Phase I Environmental Assessment, “Recognized Environmental Conditions” were noted in conjunction with hazardous compounds used as part of operation of the on-site textile machinery as well as with on-site underground fuel storage tanks (USTs) at the facility. As part of a Phase II Environmental Assessment, soil and groundwater samples were collected at the site to help assess impact. Additionally, SGC managed the closure process associated with removal of the USTs from the site and environmental compliance testing of soils and groundwater.
